In my previous article I talked about photo remakes. With remakes, I give the photo a slightly more different look than with a regular revision. Here too the title photo is an example of this. But regular revisions also yield a lot. The photos are now clearer and the ugly watermark I used in the beginning has been removed.
Where I can change the entire photo during a remake, the revision is more intended as a refreshment of the photo and the photos therefore remain in the same folder, they do not get a separate folder with a modified title. An example is the album Cars & Cars as you can see below.
In general, the photo has won a number of characteristics. They are much brighter in color so that they appear much better. In addition, in a number of cases I have been able to selectively adjust the exposure so that the overall image also looks nicer. This is particularly the case with the photo “Raiders Of The Last Corvette”With attention being paid to the exposure of the red hair.
I also used a rather ugly watermark in the beginning. I now replace it on all the photos I handle. I now use my new logo which has the advantage that it is also easier to see which photos have been revised. As an example, one more photo with the old watermark.
You can clearly see the large bold letters here, which I will never use again. I have had an even uglier watermark but I will not show it here, but if you go to Flickr you will still find it.
Another album that has been completely overhauled is the album about Woudrichem. Especially here the change is dramatic if you know the old photos. The revision consists of purely simple actions to adjust the RAW photo so that it displays nicely, so other settings in today's RAW filter, in my case DXO Photolab.
Immediately I also made the photos more or less free of copyrights, this means that they are free to use but with source acknowledgment.
I can recommend everyone to give this a try, a revision usually makes your photos a lot better. Because of the new technology but also because you yourself have become more convenient with software.
You can follow the progress by regularly looking at my photos. For convenience, set the albums to sort by date (oldest).
