Today I went on the road again to take this series of street photos. Once again a great opportunity to test the settings of my Sony RX100. I had only done this briefly on a previous occasion and now I have some more conditions under the microscope. The tests I conducted both indoors and outdoors and in a specially made setting, the sports setting and the made setting at a lower shutter speed. After a first look at the results, a number of them already fell off. I had made them with a so-called “hipshot” but you are not always sure of the result, although I am still pretty accurate in this way.
After reviewing the images on the computer it turned out that the settings I had made first were the best. I suspect that this has to do with the shutter speed of 1/200 second. At 1/100 second, there was still occasional motion blur in the image (unplanned) that I did not have at a higher speed. In the sport mode the results were also reasonable but I sometimes lost depth of field due to the automatically chosen aperture.
By the way, today was the first time I had to delete a photo at the request of someone I had photographed who didn’t want me to. If this happens to you just comply with that request. It is of course a person’s right to ask.
If you look on Flickr you will see the camera information right below the photo, take a look at the settings for each photo, I always like to do that to learn something from it.
The flash has not been used. If you want to see more data you can click on “Show EXIF” and you will see a lot of further technical data of the photo. Below are a few good results from the day, most will appear on Flickr as well.
